I had always used Waxoyl on my cars going back years. I got a can last summer when I got another car, and the Waxoyl seems to be disappointing “thin” and watery. Nothing like it used to be. It runs everywhere (which I guess is better for spraying). But, I’m not spraying and it runs down the brush handle, on to your face clothes etc.
What about brushing old engine oil on? Can it be any worse? Surely it will adhere better to the underside. But will old oil make salt adhere more so?
Last summer I spent about a week rubbing down the underside of the car and applying Waxoyl. I’ve just checked underneath today (prior to the “salt season”) and in some areas there is no sign of the Waxoyl that I applied just a year ago. I think it’s time for a change. What do others use?
