hahahaha blooody hell that looks a bit crazy! whats the spec of that engine? what turbo is that?
the engine is still mostly stripped but its running a 5k
ported and polished head new valve stem seals wasted valve guides ect
kent valve springs
kent t126 race cam
kent duplex adjustable pulley
twin timing chain
solid lifters
borg brothers inlet manifold and cbr900 carbs
2" tig welded exhaust system
and hopefully a better 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and ive got a guy in ireland making me a timing cover with a removable plate so i can get at the adjustable pulley to adjust the cam timing without needing to lower the sump and remove the timing cover.
i want to get the whole bottom end assembly balanced and flywheel lightened too.
the car made 122bhp on the dyno last time it was setup running a t125 cam and not so much head work and stock valve springs.
Should go like a bat out of hell! Those exhaust ports look delicious haha.
7K out of a KR42 Townace.
Crow double valve springs
Crow custom pushrods and cam
Chev solid lifters
Heavily ported head
Balanced bottom end
Was running stock pistons
Garret TO4B sucking thru a 42DCOE with monster jets in it. pushing 12-14psi
32mm Garrett external gate a with screamer pipe
3" exhaust
3puck ceramic clutch
T50 5spd with Quaife close ratio gearset and cable K-T bellhousing
Holden Torana banjo diff with a tight as F&^K LSD.
Pushes out about 250hp.
Rebuilding at the moment with custom forged pistons and forged H beam rods.
Going for the 200rwkw mark.
This is the beast. Was scary to drive before, can't wait to see what a few extra ponies do.
Runs rather well haha. The thing is virtually impossible to drive in the wet haha. Will spin up virtually all thru 1st, 2nd and 3rd with roll on throttle in the wet, not game enough to get it into 4th and 5th.
Here is a video my mate took. Massive exhaust leak at the time and this was when the exhaust exited just before the diff. Disregard the info and most of it is wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdKIbu54088
Also got this one. Sneaky skid at the train station
good stuff. im going to stick with the 5k for now. probably looking into putting a 20v blacktop 4age in it in the future. do you use the ke for drag racing?
Nothing wrong with the 5K What rods are you running as I can get forged H-beam to suit 4/5K. Ah, another to go to the A series.
When it's all been rebuilt and tuned I will take it down the 1/4.
For the past decade or so we've had to drive for 8 or so hours to have access to a full 1/4mi. But they've got the drag strip at one of our raceways going again about once a month.
A friend of mine has a blow thru turbo 3T-C in his RA23 Celia making 200rwkw and that cuts a 12.65. So something around that mark is the aim.
ive just got stock rods and pistons in it. those rods wont be cheap i bet. sounds like some fun cars!! these starlets are very rare over here. ive only ever seen 2 others apart from mine in england.
They are about 270 Pounds going by the currency converter.
We never had them imported here unfortunately. I think there may be a couple here now that have been imported from New Zealand, they got **** loads of em!
Bit of a **** pic, but here's one of the rods. ARP2000 bolts as standard.
This car looks sweeeeet! Always wanted one of these. Any idea how much the whole thing weighs with the bike engine? Short wheelbase aside, this thing could be a drift monster!
this is not a good finish for an inlet port due to it needing a fine grit finish as you need to create a boundary layer,
how it works is that a port is typically finished with a fine grit so that a fine wall of air clings to it as air passing over air flows much better than air over a polished metal surface this is why the finish on all expensive/high power heads have a fine grit finish because it promotes airflow,
also with a finish like this it is know to cause mixture problems too as the air is not moving all that well and the fuel/air mixture doesn't mix homogenously
although if this is the finish solely on the exhausts forget what I said above.
I know you said your friend did it but I think he needs to either buy some books or do abit of googleing, I can offer afew good book names if you like.
