Thanks Lyn, I went to In-excess today and bought some angle grinding discs as one lost mine..
Went for 0.8mm and 1mm for cutting the rust out, ordered a flap disc and that
Scrubbing looking one.
Okay so I did my back in yesterday after clearing the garage lol, but had a little play on the car, gave the car a Sand down, to sort all the little car parking dents and stone chips...
Found more rust under one of the side skirts.. Now to the experienced welder this doesn't look bad.. But to me I screamed alittle and let out a slight cry!!
How am I doing to shape a peice of metal around the door?!
Oh and found a spooky ghost face while sanding the car down..
Cut out what needs to be removed. Make some templates out of thin card. If you dont have much in the way of equipment make it up of smaller pieces.
You really dont want to be using much filler especially in that area. Just spend plenty of time trying to get the shape as close as possible
Okay thanks Seanc, I' put a thread on the delsol website hopefully sometimes done there sideskirts and I could copy the way they've done it. It's tricky because if I mess it up the door won't shut tight. :/
Very happy bunny, still waiting for my auto darken mask, got myself a set of mig gloves.
Will do some practice welds first on a old car door, then hopefully sometime next week if the weather stays nice I can finally sort the rusty Delsol out
