Its old tranny migs that seem to cause it, I had the same big problem till scotish power put a new cable from the overheads to between the two houses. Still get it a little, the big stick did'nt cause it just the mig. Inverter tig/stick no problems.
Next door and H.I.D. complained it was effecting corry. She said it dipped then seemed to go brighter momentarily
But I did help the situation by putting a few BIG caps on the output of the mig it raised the voltage and power slightly but smoothed it.
I wondered if the choke was causing some of it causing 'stored energy' to create back emf into the mains ? Transients?
Also I have heard that an isolating tranny can help, it stops the spikes going back into the mains, again smoothing it, poss coz of the slight delay?
