I have a Tex 10mm belt air sander, the 330mm belt is running a little out of alignment, tension seems ok, I cannot see any obvious adjustment, is there one??.
Cheers
I wouldn't have thought it would need much adjustment to move the belt across but maybe it needs more than I thought.
That is the correct screw though so keep turning it til something happens.
The B&D Powerfile has a handy thumbscrew in there, you can adjust it to run the belt off the edge of the tip roller which comes in useful sometimes working up to a corner.
Got a few of those if they are handled ruffly they will run off. I wouldn't adjust it at first, just carefully put pressure on the opposite side. More often it's all it needs
Quite right, as I said I tried that but what threw me was that it is not spring loaded, no return adjustment. I slackened the screw off and had to lever the plate out, then adjusted it accordingly. Now aligned ok but whether it will stay there is another matter. May have to fit a spring inside somehow or shim it. Don't know whether it is supposed to be this way, bought it s/h.
Thanks for the help.
If all else fails take the sanding belt off and re-fit it the other way around, if it now runs out to the other side it ain't the machine it's one badly made belt.
