I tend to use the gasless a heck of a lot. Havent even welded anything for real, just trying to put some beads down with my SIP at it looks HORRIBLE, just dribbles and drabs, beads sitting high or blowing through, never "just right".
I did a few weeks in college on Mig (gas) and the welds were pure sex, smooooooth and mildly rippled. night and day.
I plan to do a lot of chassis and body work on my Land Rover. Was just wondering if a quality kit might help hide my cack handedness...at least a little bit!
I am wondering if it is worthwhile to buy one second hand?

If you want real nice quality welds (as you are getting at college) FORGET the Gas-Less, flux cored - especially on thin stuff.
And yes, a quality welder will give quality results & be a lot more 'forgiving'.
