I think it's been mentioned on here a few times over the years but for the benefit of the members who've joined since then don't forget Halfords do a trade card.
To apply for one you have to take in proof that you're connected to the motor trade such as a qualification certificate, payslip or receipts to prove you've regularly bought parts and they fill in the application instore and give you your card which is valid there and then.
The discount varies on what you're buying but on service items it's always very good!!
I bought some rear pads for my A4 yesterday, shelf price £22.99, trade price £8.99!!
The card can be used for all car parts, 'professional' range tools, paints etc.
