My mate has been given a generator for nothing (well the cost of 2 cheap steaks @ a fiver) It is an NSM ES80C Single phase synchronous brush-less - dual voltage 110 - 230v with a Honda engine. i think its 2 .7 KV.
What I was told was this: "The guys missus was wanting to do the ironing or something and plugged the iron straight in to this instead of going through an inverter"
Apparently something blew and a "switch was tripped" or something, and it has not worked since. Well since that happened the guy got his spare out and since that was better has continued to use that one, and wanted to get rid of this for the space.
My mate is under the impression that the switch that was tripped was one on the Generator and will not" pop back out" or something. He then started to poke at those two white switches above the panel on the top right, where it says 115v & 230v.
Sorry to be so vague but he knows nothing about engines or electrics so that's as much as i got. If anyone can help and needs any specific questions answering, I will do my best to get them answered.
Here is a pic.
Sorry for this feeble attempt at an explanation. But if anyone can help id be very grateful. I sort of promised him I would try to get it fixed in a moment of bravado
