Hi all -desperatly need some help/advice
Need to weld some new panels into an old jeep -1.2mm , so got myself a secondhand clarke 90en for my sins
Set it up for gasless using clarke 0.9 gasless wire
Problems im encountering are
Practised on 2mm sheet & some 1.2mm (cleaned up with a flap disc)
Tried all different settings and speeds (speed of 6-7 full power seems best) just cant get any penetration on the 2mm
And either burn thru or get little or no penetration on the 1.2
The welds look horrendous and nothing likeany pics on here (or any where)- lots of huge brown bubbles - i was expecting ugly welds but this dont look right at all !
Ive arc welded before with decent results so im assuming i must be doing something wrong
Bad welder? Bad wire? Bad me?
Any tips help advice greatly recieved
Will try to get some pics posted
Ps all the welding is being done outside so gasless is my option
