First of all apologies for not posting before. Have been a long time reader of this forum and thinks it is a great source of info.
I have a Cosmo migmate 130.
It has never been great with the wire feed and I have done the brace mod which did help things out.
Ever since I have had the mig it has has a green resin type liquid that had leaked down the front panel under the main power switch
Having read the various threads on improving the wire feed motor I decided to have a go at Baz-r's mod. Note I do not hold anyone responsible for my messup, I accepted the risk and had a go.
Not frightened of a soldering iron or multimeter so...
Got all the parts and made up the circuit board no problem, I noticed when I unbolted the main circuit board that the green resin was leaking from the transformer on the pcb.
Fitted the new additional board fine and went to test......nothing just the click of both the relays old and new.
Unplugged modded wires and returned to standard made no difference.
Tried flicking all the switches on and off as per some suggestions...no joy.
Tested wire motor with 12v battery and that works fine.
Unbolted main pcb again to have another look and now the relay doesn't even click???
Tested the green leaky transformer with multmeter.
240V on input side all good
but nothing on output side??
Checked the SIP spares website and they want £55 for a new board.
Am I correct in thinking the lack of output voltage proves the transformer on pcb is screwed? I did notice on every pic of the pcb in this section the transformer is a black one but this is mine
Any suggestions.... can the transformer be replaced, is there anything else I should test?
Checking the label it suggests a 12v 1.5va transformer
Is THIS suitable?
