Quite a long post but please take the time to read.
Problem1
Painted a car winter 2009 and only now has this reaction appeared. Although I really doubt it was a problem caused by anything I have done. The car was in the garage for about 6 months to a year while finishing it off, then I had to use it for a month or two during the summer this year. Finished using it, parked it up in the drive and it sat for about 2-3 months and now this is what the paint looks like on the bonnet. (excuse the dirt) Its like its lifting but they arent bubbles. Little raised blobs
Now the thing is we had another car sitting in the same spot on the drive nose facing the house like the blue one was for about 3 months and it went the same way. It was painted about 8 years ago by someone else and this problem has only just started on that car since sitting in that spot! Is it a strange coincidence or can it be anything to do with the drive/house? The thing I keep thinking about is that we have hanging baskets above where the cars were sitting so maybe chemicals have been sprayed?? Basically I want to know if the reaction in the pic looks like something common or if there is a connection between where the cars have been sitting and the mess of the paint work on both cars.
The car i painted was done in cellulose with barcoat and high build primer underneath. The other car was painted 8 years ago in 2k professionally
Problem 2
Painted another car 5-6 months ago with barcoat - celly high build- celly top coat and theres little pin pricks of rust all over some parts of the car especially here on the rear arch which was a brand new arch welded in so brand new metal which was rubbed down and acid etch primed straight away! So how can this be happening
Been using it every day for about 4 months. I have noticed a lot of stone chips on the arches too. The car hasnt been washed much but surely the road salt couldnt have done this? Its even doing this where there was not a layer of salt/dirt over the paint With this and the stone chips Im starting to think it was bad paint/porous or something? Corners of doors etc have stone chipped through too and started rusting.
I bought the cellulose paint from nu agane car paints on ebay for both the blue car and white car. The blue car has no rust although it wasnt used in the winter.
Please shine some light on this for me. So depressed about the white car. Just got it on the road and its ruined. I took a lot of time with prep and didnt cut any corners. Im really stumped as to why this happened to the white car.
