Back in June 2011 I started the restoration of a 1980 Mk1 Fiesta Ghia, it was a bit rough after being hand painted a few times and is missing about 90% of the parts that made it a Ghia model. Basically the car had been well and trully bodged and it was time for this car to be rebuilt and put back on the road looking fresh again.
After a 500 Mile round trip to Cornwall we arrived home.

Took a good look over the car, gonna need a few panels and lots of trim bits.
Rear Panel
Full Front panel
Driver full sill
Drivers door/new skin
Full Interior
Square headlamps and indicators
Repair/replace wiring loom as its been butchered
New Window seals - car was a ghia so has chrome trims for screens and has the cutouts for side windows.
New Boot seal
New door/window seal strips as the ones on the car have been cut.
Full respray
started to take off rear bumper to look at putting the numberplate back on the bootlid as it was covering the reversing light and has a unoriginal numberplate light fitted behind bumper. Number plate had spacers made from sockets ground to an angle and the rear bumper is spaced out with a few nuts so its not conected at the sides.
drilled out the broken bolt and re-fited the boot latch so it locks shut, re drilled the spoiler holes so the boot latch can be moved and opened. no pics of that lot though.
So i removed the rear bumper that was help on by 3 bolts to get rid of this little monstrocity hiding behind the bumper.

Floors not too bad, a few dodgy patches that are only welded on the inside, i thought patches had to be welded both sides to pass an MOT?
One issue is the sunroof drain down the passenger footwell has been cut and is leaking into where the bottom door bolt is, its blown all the inner of that panel so may need to cut it all out and rectify that so the drain leaks out the bottom of the sill not into it. I was hoping I didnt have to remove that sill but its looking highly likely now.
Cut out a bit to gain access to the really rotten rear arch

Bit more work of tidying it up and some sealer and it will be mint. Need to repair the bottom of the inner arch tomorrow then I can put the outer lower panel repair on. oh and the dent that was dilled with about 2 foot of filler knocked out really easily
