My Fourtrak was the earlier version (E reg) but rotted just as bad despite not being very old at the time. I looked at several as replacement and all suffered in similar ways.
When I removed the body I found the chassis had rotted, in places, on the hidden top face plus when hit with chipping hammer holes appeared next to the welds on various brackets. Don't therefore assume the chassis sound unless you have check the same areas as they are often overlooked and PIA to repair with body / mechanicals in situ.
Pity they don't make them anymore as far better than the (x 9) Land Rovers I've also owned.
