One for the sparks among us (MK?!): under what circumstances are fire-rated downlights required as opposed non-rated ones? The ceilings are single thickness plasterboard and I'd be looking at placing some lights on the ground floor with bedrooms and bathrooms above and and some on the first floor (two storey building) with only the loft above. I ask only because I'm looking at using LED luminaires and the fire-rated ones are even more expensive than the bog-standard ones! If it was just going to be standard halogens I'd probably put in fire-rated anyway, just to be sure.
