hi all, i found this forum while doing a search trying to find some info, and although the posts the search showed are years old, i though this would be the best place to ask as searching doesn't seem to come up with anything.
i have a mig welder, which was my uncles before he shut down his engineering company, i know this welder is very old but it works fine, apart from the torch, im getting issues, the wire jams if the torch cable has too much of a curve in it, and its not even a sharp curve.
i did think maybe the liner is shot, but its stiff to pull out if the torch end of the cable has a curve in it, but easy if you lay it in a line, and the wire can be pushed through the liner with ease once out, which leads me to believe the torch is in need of replacement.
plus there is some damage to the side of the torch cable as though something hot was against it at some point, so im on the look for a new torch.
now im a little confused as to what torch im going to need to get?
it seems the machine has been fitted with a euro fitting, which if fine, but what torch do i need? MB15 or a MB25?
i don't even know what torch is on it at the mo, but i would of thought a large one as my uncle used to weld 1/4 inch steel.
im only welding on a car and only have the power set to 2/3, and im using 0.8wire.
this seems to be the only picture of the welder i have on my pc at the mo, should be more but cant find them, i can get more tomorrow if needed
sorry to launch into a longish post asking a question for my first post, and i hope someone can help.
cheers
jay
