Hi ,everyone could anyone let me know what wire i should get 0.06 or 0.08 wire
have just saved up and got a clarke 160tm but not sure which wire to get.
I will be using it for car restoration plus have a go making a car rotissere.
plus other things as well.
mildowolf remember to put the spool you are not using (whilst learning) in a ver dry place to keep the rust off. Nowt worse than finding that nice new spool you had in reserve has rusted up. : )

Keep the rolls you are not using in the empty roses, biscuit tins you have after Christmas, add some of them desiccant sachets and tape up the joint with insulating tape, pop them in the airing cupboard if SWMBO will let you.
thanks for the advice about storage off wire i have just ordered 0.6 get other later, it will be used a lot more now !Had a clarke 85en gassless for about 6 months, but to much splatter .thanks again to all. Kev
On my Clarke I used 0.6 for everything, both big and small welds with no problems.
These days I use 0.8 for everything on my 180amp Buttters welder.
I do a mix of very thin to quite heavy work, I reckon best thing is to get used to what you are using and refine your technique.
