Hi guys,
I'm looking at buying a new MIG welder to do some welding work on my Range Rover classic. I've got to the point of fed up waiting for mates to do the welding for me & I'm going to get my own & self learn.
I already have a gasless SIP MIG that I bought years & years ago but find it hard to use & friends have tried to use it & not liked it either. I can't remember the specs of it but it was no good trying to weld a manifold with it. Also if I remember rightly the wire was mega expensive compared to normal stuff.
So I've decided to buy a gas MIG as I'm also told you get better weld & they are easier to use if your new to welding.
What sort of amp would I need to weld bodywork on a Range Rover, at present I need to put on a new inner wing & make some brackets? I also want to use it for ongoing repairs in the future like sills etc
I want to be able to plug it into my sockets in the garage so no three phase stuff.
What sort of gas is available & where do you get it?
Cash, well I want to spend as little as possible but a decent & powerful enough one as to not give me problems & to get the job done.
I've seen a Sealey mightymig150 for £190, would this be just the job or could I find something better for the money?
