A bit about me first, im 19 and have been working for an engineering company for about 7 months now doing TIG welding. The company i work for basically makes refrigiration packs for Tesco's and Sainsburys so the work we do is basically pipe welding and fitting.
The problem i have is the company have told me they are not going to fund any sort of college course for me (basically they are happy with the the work im doing ) and dont want to spend there money to send me to college. So i have hit a bit of a brick wall really as im 100% set on being a welder but obviously without the qualifications on paper i wont go very far..
To cut a long story short i have about 3 grand in the bank and im looking to basically get as qualified as possible.. If anyone could be kind enough to basically break down what qualifications are needed to climb the welding ladder that would be much appreciated, cheers.
