One step away from a chunt.mostly gunts around here ....gut + _____ = gunt
It might not be so profitable when he gets a £10-20k+ bill to replace the worn battery pack in a couple years.
Exactly. Save on mortgage bills by paying cash for your house!Or buying the EV in the first place.
I've never earnt as much money, and been so skint.Open your eyes mate. A family working a full week shouldn't be struggling to put food on the table and relying on government top ups and food banks to make ends meet
Someone's making the money. It's not them.
All I seem to do now is chase for payment. I think everyone I work for is getting slower and slower to pay.I've never earnt as much money, and been so skint.
We wanted to move house this year or next. It's literally off the table. Can't move anywhere else, it's now more expensive than you could imagine in Essex. We could move to the other end of the country but that's no good for my Mrs job and would move me away from my largest client.
Hertfordshire is ridiculous, Cambridge, Essex, even Norfolk is now out of our price range.
This is BS. Selling to the grid you get a pitance. A local windfarm company has stopped selling to the grid for this reason. They now make
I thought you was a plumber? Have you started a green energy installation company or gone to work for one?Battery storage really is the future, access to the 3 minute market will be very lucrative
However, my EV will be staying charged
A battery install my team did in Battersea was nominated for an award but didn't win

I’ve totally sick to death of metal work and after seeing lots of embarrassingly bad installations I’m thinking of changing direction. I have my out of date 16th edition but I can sort that
My nephew a former sunbed parlour owner with Mancunian born wife ... she said to me back in 2006 , " The gals round here would rather have a suntan and a visible camels toe instead of putting socks & shoes on their kiddies " Her comments about chucking out kids like guppies after the dad was long gone wasn't particularly endearing but appears to be a common theme .
yeah youre dead right , and when you work full time and its all snatched away in bills and you cant have that little treat /take away /new spanner that working people should be able to have it makes for a misrible lifeOpen your eyes mate. I’ve been looking for a CHAdeMO charger but the prices I’ve been quoted are five figuresHe's got solar panels - probably getting an obscene feed in tariff rate for those which is helping at this time of the year in particular. The very, very expensive CHAdeMO charger he has (£2-3K) was paid for by the energy company. Not possible to replicate this now, just a case of someone who already had money being handed a subsidy by those putting £5 into a pre-payment meter.
Unfortunately the powers that be have decided to standardise on a inferior technical standard for charging (CCS) rather than continue with the reliable Japanese fast charge standard. This means implementing things like bi-directional current flow from battery to grid is much harder for newer EVs. Good for Leaf owners though.
I'm Bedford/ Milton Keynes. House prices are extortionate. We're gonna have to look at relocating a bit tooI've never earnt as much money, and been so skint.

Why is he not getting the meter removed and avoiding the standing charge?.Off grid for the electric at least. An acquaintance got his house rigged up with solar and he says the same. The last thing you want to do is sell it back. The panels produce enough to run the house during the dayplus an excess which goes into enough battery capacity to run everything overnight and anything over that goes into the immersion heater.
It wasn’t cheap but he hasn’t had a bill (except standing charge) since it went in and it was to pay for itself by the time he retires in 9ish years.
Although I suppose the more energy prices go up the quicker it’ll pay for itself.
It has me thinking I don’t mind admitting. No mortgage and no leccy bill sure would make the pension stretch a bit further.
With energy bills rising, and due to hit almost £3,000 in October, many households are trying to work out ways to bring their energy costs down.
But we are not living in Ukraine. My glass is half fullyeah youre dead right , and when you work full time and its all snatched away in bills and you cant have that little treat /take away /new spanner that working people should be able to have it makes for a misrible life
Good news doesn't sell newspapers. An old saying that's still perfectly relevant.Everyone's going on holiday. Airports are packed. We rarely see any proper perspective in the news. Just the usual groups screaming for attention.

Blimey I'd say Milton Keynes is as far as I'd want to go up country.I'm Bedford/ Milton Keynes. House prices are extortionate. We're gonna have to look at relocating a bit too
