Last year I almost died in my uninsulated shed, top of a hill facing the north wind straight of the black mountains, lovely view 40 odd miles from my front door, but damn cold. Eg one day I cycled 9 miles to get there, and found yesterdays coffee frozen solid, the bottle of squash concetrate had bloody frozen and the gas heater would not light and I fell off twice on the ice.
I did this last week to help when it gets real bad.
The table is 2.5x1.2m covered in 1" marine ply with a skin of 1.6mm mild steel.
Last year the skirts were made of cardboard and made a hell of a diference, this year they are hardboard and look lots better, heater on it's lowest setting and working in the gap was fine, dash around the shop for extra tasks and revert back to the warm zone.
No problems with the table getting too hot, nice to sit on at the end of the day though. Have also lagged the roof and double glazing the windows in a day or so.
