Hello All,
I have a conundrum.
I have a Clarke 16/1010 100 ltr 3 hp compressor , rated at 14cfm ( i know i should take that with a pinch of salt.)
However its fine spraying cele/1k, air tools, and generally all the things i use it for.
BUT i want to use it with an air fed mask now my spray gun uses/needs 12cfm and the air fed mask need 5-6cfm.
For small items it runs both fine the mask doesn't whistle so for short runs 15-30 seconds it runs fine. Compressor catches up and all is good in the world. However, it wont run if i am spraying something larger like a boot bonnet or wing, the whistle starts.
So i had a small Clarke compressor portable thing that's rated at 6-7cfm so i thought i could couple that up and daisy chain the two compressors up. Only problem is after lending the small one to a mate it came back and run for a short while before giving up the ghost.
I don't really want to buy another small compressor only for it to not do what i want as i really do not need two compressors. However i will do if it will run both air fed and gun.
I could change my spray gun, for a lower air consumption one ( its a Devilbiss prolite TE20 cap) but boy do i like it and the finish is superb.
So either get a smaller compressor and try the daisy chain route or buy a better compressor that will do 18CFM. I can only do 240v and they seem to be expensive?
Any thoughts on linking compressors, recommendations on budget better compressors.
Other route might be to get a small compressor just to run the mask but that means another coalescence filter/regulator and two hoses following me about? not ideal.
All the best and thanks for reading
Chris
