For road use all you need to do is pull away in second gear on the manual box and then third to fourth like a normal car/truck, once underway and without the use of the clutch you can then go up the box on the dynashift. Simple stuff once you have had five minutes in there.

What he said! The 4 over 4 are easy, drive like a can then just use the split gears, driving and steering are lovely because you can see the front wheels
Joy!They had a lot of problems with the dynashift boxes, and eventually had a huge upgrade and service exchange gearbox programme. As far as I remember, it knocked out the A and B ranges, reducing to a sensible and reliable number of gears. Can't remember the details, it was so long ago, but the boxes were causing big problems for them as the dealers didn't want to take them in trade for new ones for fear of hefty repair bills before they could resell them, so they were losing sales of new ones...
Well the dynashift gearbox is working fine and the whole tractors in good nick, it's done less than 6000 hours. They had a lot of problems with the dynashift boxes, and eventually had a huge upgrade and service exchange gearbox programme. That doesn't look like the easiest of trailer to reverse for a test! A turntable trailer for a normal test? Or was it specifically for your work trailer test? However the Renault you ended up with looks better suited to the job as it looks like a tighter lock possible on the front wheels.
I have no idea, I feel over the next few I'm going to get to understand it a bit more..Was this the series with the awful servo clutch?
I ended up driving a hired one for my brother on a few night shifts, and I still don't know how I never broke my neck, stalled it, or destroyed something in the drive train.
When I asked him about it, his comment was, "You're less likely to kill it or yourself".
Every time I have driven a tractor on the road (and I have not done it many times) - the only thing I really noticed was the steering was not too positive and they wander about abit.
Plus mad car drivers overtake like they wanna die and cut in front of you trying to avoid a head on collision.
Tractors do often bring out in the worst in drivers.
My dad had a woman bounce her Fiesta of the front wheel in to some trees one day. Woman seen the tractor ahead with a row of cars behind and nothing coming the other way, so she didn't even slow and went to overtake, failing to see the indicators showing he was about to turn right. He spotted her but the front wheel was over the line by the time he stopped, her car bounced off the tyre, and projected her into the trees. Luckily she walked away, but the car was a write off, and there were two witnesses to say my dad was indicating, and that he'd stopped before she hit the tractor. Police didn't bother charging her, as they felt she'd learnt her lesson.
The only mark on the tractor was a slight cut in the tyre.
Attaching double wheels I believe. There used to be a magic eye sensor type thing in some of those MF gearboxes, just needed a wipe clean as got covered in oil/crud and couldn't see where gear stick was and wouldn't go backwards. Under cab below gearstick somewhere.
Well done seems the examiner had loads of patience, seem to remember your car had to be spot on for the test.
Btw. what's the blue ring on the wheel for?
It's less of a problem now anyway, since they have a really good exchange programme that saves the dealer having to strip the whole thing and buy a LOT of parts. Agco are actually very good at this sort of thing. I remember being really *annoyed* when the ECU on my bmw car and they wanted £800, when I knew that the retail price of one for a massey tractor was £150 and the dealers were paying £100, and that on a fraction of the volume that bmw have!Well the dynashift gearbox is working fine and the whole tractors in good nick, it's done less than 6000 hours.
Just don't do backwards...
