I everyone .
I'm thinking to make me a Christmas present .
During the lockdown we already talked about those farmertech/holzforma chainsaw parts kits .
I've Always wanted a Stihl chainsaw , but it's a kind of tool which is completely useless for me .
I don't cut down trees ,I don't do firewood .
Just happens once in awhile to need a chainsaw to help neighbours .
I just love to work on small engines, already happened to work on Stihl chainsaws and other good brand equipment but I want more.
I'd love to have had one of this kits during lockdown .
So I'm actually thinking to buy one of this build kits , just to have something kinda intellectual to do during my spare time in the weekends .
I have options but I'm not sure on what pick up .
FS 120R which would cost me almost the same amount of money to buy the original one because doesn't exist a complete kit (but I can ask to the seller)
It's a grass trimmer ,more useful than a chainsaw to me if I have to be honest.
MS200T , which I could even sell to a friend of mine once completed without any charges
MS361 ,I really like this saw.
It looks great to me ,I like the shapes of it
59cc very powerful (If I don't make a mess during assembly)
Also cheaper than the MS200T
MS440, same as the 361 I very like it but 70cc, heavy, and very powerful maybe too much
It would cost me about the same of the MS200T
Then the beast but I believe it's really too much MS660 ,90cc ,10kg
I don't know I would need only 18" bar ,I don't need to cut nothing extremely over sized .
I just would like to build one and maybe another next year
It's just for fun .
I've already tried to find an original Stihl chainsaw too broken for repair it (blown top end ,shot crankshaft or even crankcase) but nobody sell them for a reasonable price , I'd use aftermarket parts for repairing them .
Another reason why I would like to build one is because there's a small engines repair and seller not too far from home and kit saw could be a good curriculum for a work (if I can build an tune a chainsaw I can surely repair them)
PS please give me an advice about what to do or what to pick up
