With the ongoing world implosion due to "cough" the subject we thankfully cannot discuss on here .... Ive been having a little thinking time as regards her indoors working from home for the foreseeable? Her place of work is in no rush to get them back in the office, meaning potentially the whole winter holed up in the spare room in front of her laptop? As I need all of the power we consume to run my various toys in the garage, welders, lathes mill, grinders etc, it would be very selfish for her to have the full house gas central heating on all day, and potentially every day during the next 6months?
Got me thinking......maybe the purchase of a 2kw or so Oil filled rad might be a better option? She can then adjust to suit and be master of her own localised heating? Without warming up the rest of the house that nobody is in? Whats the general consensus.....yes I know she can wear a coat etc, but giving up my power hungry toys in the mancave....c'mon
At the mo as we head into winter, the heating is on for approx 5-6hrs days in the evenings, during the week and longer, probably double that on weekends....with the new work from home scenario, it'll probably be on +8hrs extra per day, so that's 40hrs extra per week? Current boiler is quite efficient, condensing type at approx 19Kw. What is it with women and central heating.........
I might just re calibrate the thermostat and move the dial so she thinks its 24deg, but its actually not
