Not that it will affect my day to day job in any way
Work are fully behind me, which is nice, they also pay my fees
Aye, only times I listed my professional memberships were job applications and for employers to use when I was working on say a project for another organisation or for their insurance documents.only folk that know nothing use fancy letters after thier name. Usually it’s from the pay n subscribe organisations

For my current job Chartered membership of the CIPD is an essential requirement.
I seem to be starting threads a lot recently! But anyway...
Any on here?
I have my interview with IMechE this week for CEng.
Pretty nervous, mostly because I want it quite badly and the end is possibly in sight, it's always been a career goal.
Reading through my application and refreshing myself with my acheivements... or lack of... but there's no room for self-deprecation in the CEng application
Reminds me of a old colleague, an Iranian working in UK around 1980. He was pulled over by police for a routine check while driving late at night in a decrepit old car with a noisy exhaust and numerous other faults. “May I see you licence, please?” Hands over the licence, in which his title is recorded as Dr, because he has a PhD in engineering. “That’s fine, thank you Doctor *******. Have a safe journey.”A useful addition after your name on a business card.....
It may not affect you in your current role, but suspect it may open doors for you later, either where you are or else where. Seems the larger the organisation the more it matters. With my previous employer it seemed a right of passage for many.
But for all court work it’s a game of Top Trumps.
Formerly FIChemE, C Eng, Pr Eng, Eur Eng etc etc, but no interviews in my day. All now lapsed as I haven't seen the point of paying the fees now I'm an OAP. I'm obviously way out of touch with today's requirements. Even Viva Voce for degrees was fairly rare.
Got the email today... successful! I can now put 3 more letters after my name
I think I put too much criticism on myself for this sort of thing... I had almost convinced myself that I would be missing something and it would be deferred.
Got £346 fees to pay now

and firearms applications and driving licence etc etc,I suspect what you have written is not quite correct, when I got CEng (from the IEE) it was you can do this and that (including the post nominals) "after receipt of cleared funds" - The IEE always did like to get the cash sorted first, the IMechE letters used to be similar but a little less direct.
Congratulations - you can now have a sideline signing passport photos!
yeah, the gas bill, leccy bill, phone bill, court summons ?I think as a student I'm an IMechE affiliate member or something like that, do I get any letters?
You forgot TV licence, they "Authorised agents to investigate the premises" last week... scaREEyeah, the gas bill, leccy bill, phone bill, court summons ?
