I’m looking for advice with reference to extending the ground cable on a GYS Novomig which is similar to the GYS Smartmig 162, I have purchased the Parweld Pro-Grip SB150 4 Metre Euro-Torch from Weldquip so want to match that length with the ground cable.
The machine is only fitted with a 2mtr long 16mm2 Lead which is hard wired so I’m replacing it with a 4mtr x 25mm2 cable but also going to fit a dinner plug and a socket to the casing.
so my question is:
Is it ok to connect the dinze panel socket to the Internal 16mm2 cable then use the new 25mm2 cable outside the machine from there?
Or do I need to replace the short bit of cable inside the casing which goes to the polarity gas no gas terminals?
There’s also a short cable that goes from the other end of the polarity terminal to the Ujimaflip (technical term) inside will that also need the larger cable?
My apologies in advance for my ignorance but be rest assured that my fabrication and welding abilities are slightly better then my intelligence!
