This project is coming up the endless job list, It's been the slowest rebuild in history...slow but sure. Theres a vintage rally near us in July next year, so hoping to take it. I need some sort of target anyway, otherwise it won't happen.
The job ran aground when after rebuilding the engine and filling it with oil, it wee'd out from where the black arrow is. Its a ************** aftermarket gasket on the crank. The engine is a little Perkins. Its a while since i had it in bits. Can i just drop the sump off to replace this gasket or does the whole engine need to come off and the crank out?
Photo is where she is at at the moment. all painstakingly cleaned back to clean metal, a million bodges and wear dealt with, everything else has been fitted up, all the tin work on, a cab done, then stripped back for painting. Thankfully the 40+L of oil in the gearbox and hydraulics is happy where it is and not the slightest damp patch..
