Trying to work out what sort of band saw i should keep an eye out for -
Ive got some more work requiring hardwoods.
My cheapest way to acquire the material is in 2" rough sawn (chainsaw mill) planks.
I figure, with a decent bandsaw, i could possibly saw these in half, and then thickness down to 18mm (3/4 inch).
This may, or may not be overly optimistic, i guess dependant on how flat the 2" boards are?
Seems crazy to buy 2" boards to thickness down to single 3/4" boards.
I dont need to do scroll type work at all, so dont need throat depth (is that the right term - the horizontal measurement?) but would need a decent vertical measurement to be able to resaw wider boards.
(i know ill need some sort of fanciful attachment probably to feed them through)
Is there anything that would do this kind of work without going crazy?
As an indication, my table saw is a Wadkin AGS - so id be looking at that sort of level but in bandsaw land, not pressed steel draper, nor something that i need a whole new workshop to house!
Thank you.
