I am not sure how to go about this. I have 2 pairs with original paint that Id like to sort, plus a spare pair. The first pair were half stripped back to metal years ago on the easy flaked and corroded areas. I remember using a heat gun. The spokes are still painted but some is discoloured from heat.
The second pair have corrosion and flaking around the rim.
3rd pair have tyre fitting marks and scratches, chips from fitting.
Should I strip them back completely with paint stripper / sand blaster, or just the bad bits and key/prime over the old paint?
I think I will get epoxy primer, is that best for alloy?
Will either be brushed 2k direct gloss, or sprayed 1k and clear. I've seen several people say 1k is adequately durable for bike wheels.
I want to minimise manual sanding as bike wheels are a horrible shape to prep.
