After few calls and emails, I think I've got it down to choice of 2 inverters. Esab warrior 400 and a GYS Exagon 400.
Or a transformer based oxford multimig 410.
I'm not going to mention prices or dealers online but the oxfords the cheapest followed by gys at a few hundred more and the esabs most expersive but only by €300.
The oxfords the simplest. But the inverters are nicer to use, are normally better with out of position welding and slightly more efficient. Which should mean faster welds with less fuel, although the difference my not be that noticeable.
On that note I run an fg Wilson 35kva generator so power shouldn't be an issue.
