If you didnt like it ,,, why did you buy it . a day or two more wouldnt have mattered a jot. Oil gets very interesting the more you read about it , basically everything you think you know , you dont.
I did a lot of reading a few years back as I rebuilt an Audi v6 and put metal cam shafts in , instead of the chocolate ones that were in originally the more i read , the less I actually knew , I just thought I knew something.
Yeah it's a little naughty on the naming I must agree! Surprised a company like Valvoline haven't taken things further with them
Yeah I know what your saying, But words & colours are two different thingsHave you never been in Lidl or Aldi? Half the products in there use similar colour type set to majo brands.
bit like the time me and a buddy had to feed a very ill viatra some non fling oil and 2stroke to get her home got it home ans topped it off with something a bit more suited and she lasted a year after that toofew things I know about oil
Owt is better than nowt
Regular oil changes are more important than the exact spec, as long as its close ... similar grade and type
The exception being high performance
That said these dsys I usually run manufacturers spec at a maximum of 50 to 75% of the recommended service interval
I was happy to buy it on his recommendation in the shop, at first I thought it was valvoline which I've heard of but it was when I got home and the realised it was valvotech which didn't seem to exist anywhere that alarm bells started ringing. Suitably reassured on here that it's fine, I'll be doing the oil change using this stuff
youve never owned an Audi v6 then ,,,, camshafts are made from chocolate , or something similar.Metal camshafts eh, what next...
Re the thin oil - drop a sump full of hot oil out and see how thick it is - the theory being it needs to be 70 deg to work anyway.
Surelynot Audi -what about that excellentGerman e gineering we allways here about? Bit like Golf diesel cams then...The a countants must have been at it again....youve never owned an Audi v6 then ,,,, camshafts are made from chocolate , or something similar.
Throw in a crazy long service interval , and before long your looking at 4 shafts and loads of cam followers and hydraulic tappets etc etc etc , my rebuild cost me 1200 sterling in bits , and a weekend to do it all.
it was a long service interval plan ,,, still that job done and 200k on the motor and it still starts first turn of the key , so I dont mind really ,, I did at the time though lolSurelynot Audi -what about that excellentGerman e gineering we allways here about?
