IPA may work.Bought a couple of new tubes of Stuarts blue and was trying to use it today, its as thick as pig poo and impossible to spread, compared to the old tube i had. Anyone know what you can thin it down with ?
The blue you want I’m afraid is the Dyekem one in the tube. The Stuart’s blue isn’t great.
Here it is.
Dykem Hi-Spot Blue

this works properly as it should for blueing mating parts like tapers
Any pigment will do .
Raided the kids painting stuff before
I got onto this as well, I think I saw This Old Tony do it and immediately thought, what a great idea. Just for marking out etc.I use Jumbo felt pens for marking out and in some situations as blue.....
very conveinient....
Dry Stuarts I put a small dollop for rolling out then one single small drop of oil. Any light oil will do I use 10 weight spindle oil.
Don't use it nowadays I use Diamant Tuschierpaste.
