has anyone here separated the main body casting from the sheet metal base on a harrison mill (preferably the later vertical only model as the base cabinet differs from the earlier horizontal/universal machines)?
I ask as I notice that my Z axis lead screw sits a long way off centre in the hole in the cabinet. I'm converting to CNC and this is going to cause me an issue. Is there adjustment in the studs that secure the main casting to the base (is the base slotted)? It looks like the whole main casting needs to come 1/8" to 1/4" forward. Its obviously been like the since it was build as the lead nut mounting boss screw down into the 3 holes that are also off centre.
