Hoping the collective experience here can offer some advice.
As some of you may recollect I started a thread about my garage project, apologies for the lack of updates I will add to it soon but things are stupidly busy ATM
I am taking a week off work in September and will be hiring a mini digger and removing the top layer of dirt from the ground in front and to the side then filling with hardcore and then road planings on top.
Right in front of the garage are a couple of tree stumps, they are about 6" off the front pillars. They have been killed off but I would like to either remove them or at least reduce them so they are below ground level.
Once I have dug down I can reduce them with a chainsaw and then cover over or chop out as much of the roots as I can and then remove the stumps, which would be the better option or doesn't it matter?
I have seen mention on previous threads about 'heave; when tree stumps have been removed, do I need to be worried?
