Do Screwfix sell the size you want?
I have absolutely no idea how they they identify these things, this is another table I found on a special SWA web page, it means nada to me. Same gland ‘number’ for several sizes of cable?
I’m assuming the ‘20’ is actually for the threaded end that goes into a connection box, but the seal end, I have nothing.
There is a CEF shop a mile or two away, I’ll pop in tomorrow.

The main 2 sizes are 20S and slightly larger 20. you then get the larger 25 and upwards.
All of the 20 glands are the same physical size all the 20S glands are the same physical size, the pictures at the top are just different manufacturers. And then some have the rubber seal in for outdoor use (alt-cw & taurus onwards are external).
What size is your cable (conductor size and number of cores)?
The way you make off an armoured cable means that one size of gland will do multiple sizes of cable.
I have 6m 3 core, which measures 15.5mm outside diameter. I have the glands that were sent with it, 'suggested parts', but they have a 20mm hole where the sealing part is.
The table on the back of the pack says exactly the same as every other table: 20.
If I actually needed a water tight outside fitting, simply ordering on line, what part number do I order.

That'll be the correct size then. I haven't got any 20 but have some 20s to hand, the back nut hole is 18mm and the rubber seal in the back end once tightened closes down to 10mm. They do compress a lot, once fully tightened it will seal against the outer sheath of the cable.
Excuse the mangled gland it's an old one but you see the idea.

Love that, I understand it should be slightly off the floor to prevent damp creeping in if they decide to hibernate in it. Lots of dry leaves as bedding. Keep us posted it may need it’s own separate thread if they move in.

steel wire armoured you mean catenary wire is overhead and supports cable

Can your hedgehog wander far and wide? They typically need about a dozen small gardens to provide enough food.
