No they are proper compressors so should be able to cool down to 16 degreesDo air conditioners have a maximum that they can cool in relation to the ambient temperature, i.e if its 35 degrees then its only going to bring it down by X amount anyway ?
What is the temperature in the room when its switched off ?

With all cooling units, there are two parameters to look at when comparing performance. The first is the internal ambient that the cooling performance is measured at. This will consist of a dry and wet bulb temperature (or RH). With all coils, the performance is dependent upon the temperature difference between the coil and the air. i.e. you will get a greater performance if you are cooling warmer air. As the air temperature drops towards the coil temperature so does the cooling capacity. This is partially why we use refrigerant based cooling as the evaporating temperatures can be very low. Be careful as some units will have their performance rated at much higher internal temps to make their data look good. The Eurovent system was meant to be used to enable uniform operating conditions to be compared. Most manufacturers provide 'UK' performance data to give more realistic cooling capacities.Do air conditioners have a maximum that they can cool in relation to the ambient temperature, i.e if its 35 degrees then its only going to bring it down by X amount anyway ?

My mum and dad have had one years with no issiues. i think its these poxy delonghis. They look good but actually are crap, just like their microwavesI was looking for a dehumidifier whilst walking around a bike jumble, spotted something, turned out to be a portable air con unit, size of a small fridge, guy did house clearances, bought it for £25.00, still working 8? years later, use it for a couple of weeks every summer....
