I have a few bought by my grandmother - probably when ERNIE was first born in 1956.
I'm still waiting to win anything!
Beware, there have been reports of them being very difficult to contact in case of problems, also the scary case below where they closed the account and refused to discuss why or return the funds.

I switched to app banking about 2-3 years ago for day to day stuff...best move I ever made.
Got fed up last time my card was cloned...using your main account card for online shopping I think is nuts!
Whenever I have an app card transaction I get a phone notification...if the card gets cloned they'll get 1 transaction and I'll freeze the card!...online transactions have to be approved via the app....it's a good system I think.
I always use my credit card, for online stuff, so it is the banks money I’m losing, not mine. The bank are much more enthusiastic about security when it is their money that is being pinched.
Phone apps are great for checking up on it all too.
When we moved house in March, everything was packed, sat on the floor in our empty house, my EA decides it is time to tell me I have to pony up £6800 to finish the purchase of the house we are moving to. No sort of a reminder a few days before, Nah, we’ll just wait until moving morning and it is all on......
Anyway, pick up my trusty iPhone, and in a minute the money is transferred to the right bank. It then took the EA two hours to action it, but I can’t imagine how that would have gone down in the days you had to go into your bank to move money, or send a cheque....
Probably wouldnt have happened people were far more organised before instant access came along.
We had to got to Halifax to do a remortgage, they made us sit through a bloody video it was a bit like Peter and Jane buy a house it was absolutely unbelievable and we told them so, me and the wife laughed most of the way through it..
well got to the bottom of it I still have a current account with 20 quid in it from 20 years ago the bad news the prats want to see either a driving licence with mugshot or a passport . I have neither . why should I send off and pay for another licence just to show them. I already business bank with them so they know who I am not happy so I phoned the help line the key worker one because they don't answer the mere mortal one even after half an hour there going to send me a pack out and reset my security code as I don't know what mine was after 20 years .Christ u have to go through hoops to get sorted dunno how people manage without a comp and a phone
