post a picture of the injectors as installed if possible, you could borrow my leakoff tester if *(a) I could find it and (b) you were a lot closer!
proper one isn't
Faulty MAF can cause non-start on these. If the ECU doesn't see any air going in, it won't inject fuel, until the point the ECU recognises there is a sensor fault, and even then, they'll struggle to start. Unplugging the MAF can often still take a few attempts to get them to start, even then they'll often struggle.Doubt if a MAF would cause a non start.
EGR jammed up shut would cause a non start and give you a generic air flow code. Sort of industrial asthma - no air going into the engine and recording a no air flow code when cranking.
They'll do that, as the return lines are under pressure. You need to clamp of the leak off pipe, however I've never personally seen faulty injectors on these cause them not to start.I disconnected the leak off pipes, turned it over and fuel came out of the leak off pipe, but not out of the injectors...
That's great news, well doneAmazingly fast delivery in the rail, 10 minute job to swap the sensor and regulator over and it now starts without nasty chemicals or rude boys with jump leaps. I am equally surprised and delighted. Now I need to sort out the check engine light and the ABS light, and its off for an MOT. Thanks for the help.
I went from one van that was on its last legs, to this one rocking up and another, a Corsa Combo in a few days. I think the Combo will be much more use, but it needs to be moved on a trailer, so Im a bit spoilt for a bit as the transit has come back to life. I need to move some racking next week so hopefully it will last that long.. then all this one has to do is tide me over till the combo is useable. Fingers crossed.Once it's Mot'd I bet it gets borrowed back! I had a friends Peugeot parked up here for nearly two years as she was saving it for my God-daughter. I asked to use it as I needed a car for work and 5 weeks after the Mot and getting it running on all three cylinders she desperately needed it back.
Im growing to dislike 'modern' car diagnostics.. Got lights for ABS airbag and engine, I have a free version of OBD doctor on the laptop that doesnt show anything but the MAF sensor still, and it wont clear that. Fixing cars used to be find the fault and fix it, but now you need to pick the bones out a random set of errors that dont mean what they say most of the time, and then convince the ECU to wind its neck in. There is nothing wrong with this van now, but the MOT is out next week and Id need to spend as much as its worth on a reader to make three lights go out..Amazingly fast delivery in the rail, 10 minute job to swap the sensor and regulator over and it now starts without nasty chemicals or rude boys with jump leaps. I am equally surprised and delighted. Now I need to sort out the check engine light and the ABS light, and its off for an MOT. Thanks for the help.
Just been told the speedo doesnt work. Wish someone had mentioned that before! We are hatching a plan where the owner takes it for an MOT and a proper obd check up. At least then we will know whats real and whats ghosts. In the mean time, next time I'm not broke I'll get a proper reader. (or a series II landy..)I feel your pain buddy. One of the reasons I run a (very) small fleet of classics (1936 Morris, 1973 GT6 and a classic Mini) without a computer amongst them (actually, the Mini might have one but it's probably only for the fuel injection!). Anything goes wrong with the day car and my local independent takes care of it.
It may be worth speaking to your friendly MoT tester and getting him to hook up and clear the codes for you while it's in. My guy does it automatically when mine goes in for a service.
carpet is absolutely soaked on the drivers side... The jobs on the list.Common fault on the corsa C is a bad earth to the ECU. A direct earth from battery to the case/mount of the ECU cures all sorts of strange faults.
Tech 2 used to be available from Vauxhall with a limited license - £1 for 24hrs, £20 for a month etc. If not, the bootleg version works well enough. Look at the Corsa C forum for more info, its a bit quiet these days though.
Speedo / digital readout not working can also be due to water coming through the dash around the servo mount. Vauxhall
panal seal is crap... it cracks... scrape it out and reseal with Tigerseal.
