To get 30-35 where do I need to have my setting atYour machine should weld anything from thin sheet to 1/2 inch plate no problem, you just need to learn about prepping joints, and how to drive it. My advice would be get some scrap, clean it up, and some one who can weld properly to set you away in the right direction.
On the 270 the wire feed is not semi syngetic or what ever its called you need to set it manually.
I like the machine, does what its supposed to do, but has taken a bit of getting used to finding the right settings for what Im doing. Ive assumed the voltage steps are equal, and just made my self a rough amps chart. So have a rought starting point. I work roughly at 30-35 amps per mil thickness.
It doesnt get a lot of use, but has welded up a frame for pallet forks for my tractor, which has had some abuse recently, and its not broken.
