Hi all, new here.
I have a cheapo chinese made 40A cutter, bought it 5 years ago for some gouging job (modded some jeep axles) and now i've made a CNC plasma and it's fitted and running.
But the OEM torch is a P80 with tips ranging from 1.3 to 1.5 mm ( 50 to 80 amp i guess) and i swapped the torch for the same P80 type but 180° machine torch very cheap on Amazon. The problem is the cut quality.
I have to run it at 30 psi or the flame will blow out so the cuts are "meh" type, loads of dross.
So i'm thinking of welding shut the tip and drilling them to 0.7-0.8mm as it seems the standard or changing the torch for a S45 type which has a wider selection on tips.
Any1 with similar experience or maybe a better hindsight ?
