As above. Is one machine any better than the other. I want the oxford but can get the tecarc cheaper. Is the only difference where the reel is or is their different smoothing capaciters or anything.
I was trying to make a similar choice a few weeks ago but with the Portamig also thrown into the equation.

Even Tecarc themselves couldn't tell me the differences. The most I could tell was, the Oxford has the wire spool on the top, the Portamig has the lowest and more power settings and the Tecarc doesn't come with a torch as standard. The Portamig definitely has the smoothing capacitor bank but I think the other two now do as well.
I ended up ordering a Portamig 186s.
Sorry to high jack the thread but how quickly did weld equip get back to you?
I got an e-mail back fairly quickly to acknowledge the order but the Portamig is made to order and Weldequip are going to contact me again when it is ready for delivery. I am not in any hurry, as I am still building the garage it is going to go in!
I thought the Oxfords always had smoothing capacitors and the Portamigs had them introduced later?
They have been making Portamigs for years. The Oxfords are a relatively new edition
