I have 2 that will do for now thanksI managed to source a medium duty bar from a friend, cant remember off top of my head but he said he had previously bought individual bars from a welding supplies around cambridge area.
@123hotchef no you'll need medium duty bars, heavy duty carvers are really serious bits of kit!
first thing I do with carvers is drill a hole about half inch from the end , or both ends in your case and put an m6 nut and bolt through it , and leave it there ,, even better is to put a long d shackle on so you can hang the long clamps up when not in use ...How the fook do i adjust these
undo the tension nuts / t bars ,, then you sort of un hook the clamping arm and they will slide up or down to the next notch you press against the spring thats meant to stop them falling out of position by pressing on the small square sticking out bit under the screw t bar at the same timeI still can't move the clamps down the bar
All well and good Tom but as I'm sure you are aware the real beauty of a carver (this particular type) lies in its unique power to be reversed.first thing I do with carvers is drill a hole about half inch from the end , or both ends in your case and put an m6 nut and bolt through it , and leave it there ,, even better is to put a long d shackle on so you can hang the long clamps up when not in use ...
oh , the bolt saves your toes / head / teeth or everything else along the way.
you can always just undo the nut and bolt , they only need to be finger tight sooner or later then end will fall off , and you will wish you had a bolt in the bottom , or a snap clip , or a tractor pin etc etc ,All well and good Tom but as I'm sure you are aware the real beauty of a carver (this particular type) lies in its unique power to be reversed.
