Back in the days of old, that would sound like "Carb Icing"
I have had it on a Renault 11. Bloody thing.
Now we are talking. Ledgendsnot quite as bad as Broken Biker and his Megane

Where is he now?
Is vag-com able to do more than vcds lite (I guess the clue is in the lite). I can't find vag-com for sale anywhere.

What is VCDS lite then?Rosstech (the official producer) is no longer allowed to use Vag-com after a courtcase over trademarks, so it is now officially VCDS, although most people still refer to it as Vag-com.
What is VCDS lite then?
I'd have to check, but IIRC Rosstech used to release an older version that will work with cheap third party interfaces, whereas to get full up to date functionality you have to have a genuine/licensed interface.
What's a 3 vin?I bought my first Rosstech Beta 0.50 in May 2000 - this came from the USA by post - reckon I was one of the first people in the UK to have one?
Ever since then I have upgraded the interface - as and when new protocols have come out - downloaded the software with updated versions when new ones have been released.
We have upgraded to the VCDS HEX net in 2020 - Rosstech will be releasing software for Crafter vans (we do fleets of Crafter vans). And the VAG COM USB V2 interface we have here - won't do the new software.
The new Hex Net worked a treat with the USB cable supplied - but it was a pig to network on wifi - reckon it took me two hours - port problems with Windows firewall. But I managed it in the end - not sure how?
VagCom has been good to us over the years - it is cheap in real terms - for the coverage - it is as near dealer as you can get. Thumbs up for RossTech.
Plus they do 3 VIN and 10 VIN lower cost kits for DIY repairers.
I presume it will allow you to use on 3 cars and is limited by the vehicles VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) so you can only use it on 3.What's a 3 vin?
