Got the jigsaw. Was very surprised at the quality for a cheap range, much better than the Bosch I had before it. Would recommend.Has anyone used the makita mt range and if so is there much difference to there normal range ?
IMHO there won't be a huge difference in quality between ranges of corded gear, it's really not difficult to make a good corded drill or grinder. I'd say the MT series if it's cheap enough will be good value.
G series is a total rip off and a waste of time. They created the model range just to mess with consumers.
Cordless LXT covers the whole range from cheap to top-end, it's quite confusing unless you know what you're looking for. You've got a DIY spec drill sitting on the same catalogue page as a trade spec steelworking drill.
It is quite useful though, I bought a top spec sds and combi but didnt need all the features of the highest spec circular saw so I was able to buy exactly what I needed
Not sure about the red ones, all mine are 18v LXT.
The bigger concern for me is the release of 40v LXT. Desire is a cruel mistress.

Yeah, sorry about thatDamn you Man!!
I was looking at a makita 18v grinder! Now i know there is a 40v (probably 36v) i just need to buy all new batteries ect
Well the grinder has arrived and I had a little play today and I can’t really tell the difference apart from being slightly lower wattage at 570 as a pose to 700 but works great for home use really happy
Could you measure the circumference of the handle and reply with the measurement on here please? I'm looking for one that is slimmer than usual, I know metabo do one but would be good to compare.
Cheers!
Thanks for that, I think they are being clever with words "smallest in its power class", the metabo is 120mm but that is 900w :-)Read somewhere that this is the smallest circumference grinder that you can get (176mm) ...don't know how true that is.
