There seemed to be some discussion about the Snap-On 'lifetime guarantee', and the OP didn't specify as to whether they'd enquired or were willing to pull it to bits to investigate.
used to have a mate worked in a garage and spent 1000s on every tool he needed i used to buy up any snapon tools when i seen them at boot sales give to him he would use them if good or get them swaped if they where bad
im sure this has been gone through on the fourm before but as snapon is 5 times more expensive than say halfords advance and yes the cost of the tool is more but not 5 times as much swaping a broken one should be to me not a problem
they must have lost a lot of poeple by not just swaping tools out i know a few that have changed im sure ive seen a couple on the fourm that moved on because of this as well
