@Screwdriver
I would definitely agree but according to knipex these letters (DM) are a forging mark for traceability.

I also have any other pair I bought from an autojumble for a few quid that I think are fake! They look exactly like the real ones but put next to each other they are fatter all round , maybe to make up for the lower quality metal??
Where did you get yours from?
dunno what they must be doing with them then .well I probably do cutting thick metal with them and riving and twisting . I can get a year out of them used 7 days a week I've lost count on how many steel socket screws I've cut and shortened with themnot overly impressed with knipex for the cost
we have them in the stores at work and regularly go through them especially snips.
the most reliable is probably knipex combination pliers but that about it.
nearly every pair of snips I've come across have lumps out of the cutting edges and aren't in line anymore.
probably over worked/overloaded the jaws however the mac set i have i haven't ever had any issues with.
one big set and one small set.
i use one for neat work and wiring and the bigger set for butchering.
Yours are the older style without the thumb grips, probably explains the difference

i have a load of Elliot lucas snips and pliers the pliers were a tenner and the snips 8 quid from a toolstall at ruffoth autojumble they are the same quality as the knipex and virtualy identical .id defy anyone to say there was any difference in quality and ive been using both makes day in and day out I. get about a year out of them before the edge is slightly of them and wont cut single strands of flex
Boddinngton rehandle knipex tools so they definitely sell blades and such
I bought a fluidising tank on a whim, a few yrs ago with the intention of rehandling all my pliers etc. Still no roundtuit issued
Haven't used one of those since school.

I just checked mine, it does have the scale as well.And a scale, next to the line of gear teeth.
None of mine seem to have that.
