I have a PARWELD XTI 200 AC/DC P welder with a WP26 aircooled Powerweld torch.
I am an absolute beginner who has watched hours of utube tutorials and have learned that practise, practise, practise is the name of the game. I have also learned that comfort is also of paramount importance.
Yesterday I laid down my first few beads and was agreeably surprised by the results however my torch and cable is pretty heavy and clunky and I'd like to buy a new one that is easier to handle.
The current torch has an on/off button and a thumb wheel for controling the current, the connection to the welder is a 5 pin plug.
As the welder has an automatic ramp control on the current an on off button seems to be good enough for me.
I am principally interested in welding 1 to 2 mm steel.
How do I go about finding a torch that will work with my welder and be lighter and easier to handle.
P.S. What non of the training videos warned me that holding your breath whist running a bead was not necessary!!!!!!
