Recently i have decided I want a mig welder for day to day use in the garage. I have a few questions regarding power supply for said welder and was wondering if people could point me in the right direction. This welder is single phase and 295 amps with an 80% duty cycle. I want to be able to weld 10mm quite a bit if necessary so the high amps and duty cycle are a must. My only concern is the power supply I have, the welder seems to come with a standard uk plug, which I would be changing for the “blue” plug aswell as setting up a 16 amp socket for it, what I would like to know is am I gonna have enough juice to power this welder realistically or is it going to end up strenuous on my single phase power supply. I’m used to have 3 phase power supply and 3 phase welders at my disposal at work. Also if it is going to end up too strenuous should I be looking at a 3 ph machine and a rotary phase converter? Thanks
