I just got an unexpected tax rebate, and it covers the cost, just about of an ac/dc tig welder. I am looking at either the R-tech 170 amp digital inverter or the 200 amp analogue inverter from the same company.
It will be used for motorcycle bits, cracks in castings and the like, and aluminium fab work, 2-3mm sheet i expect.
Can i get away with the 170 amp machine ? Motorcycle castings are not that heavy usually, and anything big like cylinder heads i would normally preheat anyway.
Thoughts ?
