Hi guys
Do we have any motor winding experts among us???
got a vintage vespa scooter question
The scooter in question has only two coils mounted on the stator plate
At present it is rated for 6v lighting circuit and 6v ign
Latter scooters used 12v for lighting but kept 6v for the ignition
I want to go to a 12v lighting circuit as I will be running a special 12v led main headlight
I cant simply change to the latter more modern stator plate as it messes up with the ignition timing degrees (point at which spark starts)
So my question. What makes the coil i have 6v
How come it only makes 6v
Can I rewind the coils to produce 12v
